What's advantages of twisted IDC Flat Ribbon Cable

The IDC Flat Cable twists the prepared copper wire using a prescribed twisting method and twisting machine to ensure sufficient tension on the copper wire and avoid poor contact caused by loose copper wire during subsequent production.

1.High flexibility

When the twisted wire is bent, each single wire is wound in a spiral shape around the circumference of the twisted wire. When the twisted wire is bent, each single wire is simultaneously stretched and compressed, and the compressed part moves towards the stretched part. Only the friction generated by the movement of the single wire needs to be overcome, which is much smaller than the resistance generated by the bending of a single wire in a parallel harness.

2.High reliability

The reliability of a single wire is reduced due to defects and material inhomogeneity caused by the manufacturing process alone. The use of multiple twisted single wires in the core disperses defects and significantly improves the reliability of the wire.

3.Strong intensity

The finer the wire diameter of the same material, the higher its tensile strength. Therefore, the comprehensive tensile strength of a stranded wire made up of multiple thin strands is greater than that of a single wire of the same cross-section.

4.Good stability

When the twisted wire is bent, the position of each single wire alternates between the upper elongation zone and the lower compression zone of the twisted wire, and the single wire does not undergo elongation or compression, nor does it change in position.
